The navigation through the Pacific from the Marquesas Islands to Tahiti was done very fast because of excellent sailing conditions. We arrived in French Polynesia slightly earlier than expected. Just a few miles away from Papeete – the capital, is the island of Moorea where we quietly anchored. Cook’s Bay is named after the famous British sailor and explorer James Cook who came here almost 300 years ago. It was not the worst place to wait and rest for a day before the start of the festivities in Papeete.
