08_Sunset in the Sulusea.jpg
It was one of our longest legs of navigation, from Cairns in Australia to Manila in the Philippines, more than 5000 kilometres at sea without a stop. After a month in Australia we left the continent by the Torres Strait and crossed first the Arafura Sea, then the Banda Sea, the Molucca Sea, the Celebes Sea and finally reached the Sulu Sea. Like many people, I had difficulty placing this area of the World. These seas were unknown to me. That day we were near the equator and it was extremely hot and the temperature on board was infernal. The four of us have been at sea for almost three weeks now. In the evening when the air became slightly cooler, all the crew came out on the solar panels to enjoy the sunset. The Unknown turned out to be one of the best places in the world to watch the sunset.
