Along the Vietnam coast, we were heading to Malaysia and Singapore, during the monsoon season when the weather changed dramatically. Strong winds and currents against us, accompanied dark cloudy rainy skies. There we experienced the limit of our solar powered boat. So we decided to hide in the Mekong Delta for a couple of days until the sunny weather came back. For Captain Erwann it was not an easy venture to deal with the Vietnamese authorities to obtain a safe place where to stay. Finally we got a designated anchorage, deep upstream in the Mekong Delta, to an uninhabited area, as it seemed. As the anchor drops, local boats suddenly appear and abound. These locals came to sell us everything we needed. I especially remember the nice tiger prawns that Jens bought from one of these business friendly fishermen.
